“It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you.” — John 16:7
The Holy Spirit depicted as a dove in scripture is our helper. He is the One who comes alongside us, Our Comforter, Counsellor, Advocate and Friend. The Holy Spirit was never a lesser alternative to having Jesus beside us.
He is God with us, God within us. The beautiful gift of His constant presence which is our greatest reward.
